Beschreibung

JOUEF, the passion of toys, by D. Bonnet-P. Broguière and T. Delcourt-C. Fausser, Ed. Du May, 9-½ inches x 12 inches ( 24 cm x 31 cm ), hardcover book with 192 full color pages

This hardcover book of 192 pages presents the history of the famous French Company Jouef from its founding in 1944.
This very complete book is illustrated with over 730 pictures presenting the different toys produced,
From ordinary toys to the most sophisticated trains, since 1944, the name of Jouef is inextricably linked to memories of all little French boys and girls.
Its history, true symbol of economic and social development of our country since World War II, goes from popular toys of the 1940s to road courses and beautiful electric trains which all children dreamed for Christmas, from the beginnings of the post-war boom to the triumphant 1960s and 1970s to the difficulties and successive bankruptcies, always followed by a bright rebirth.
The takeover by the English firm Hornby in 2005, now opens new perspectives for the future of the only major French brand model trains.
It is this rich and symbolic story that three passionate collectors and a journalist of the magazine La Vie du Jouet chose to tell.

This book presents mechanical and electric trains, but also all other toys of Jouef:
boats, cars, circuits, rare models, ignored limited editions, cellulosic, automatons, farming toys vehicles, as well as catalogues, advertising...
