Beschreibung

Lacloche jewelers, by L. Mouillefarine and V. Ristelhueber, Ed. Norma, 9-½ inches x 12 inches ( 24 cm x 31 cm ), hardcover book with 320 full color pages - French/English edition

The Lacloche firm is one of the glories of Parisian jewelery, from the Belle Epoque to the 1960s. After humble beginnings on the rue de Châteaudun in 1892, it moved to the rue de la Paix in Paris, as well of setting up shop in London, Madrid, and the seaside resorts of Nice, Biarritz, Cannes, Deauville, Saint-Sébastien...
The jewelers' business developed at dazzling speed throughout and behond the Belle Epoque, seducing crowned heads in England, Spain, Greece and Siam, as well as the aristocracy and Hollywood stars.
Renowned for their elegance and the refinement of their fabrication, the models signed Lacloche Frères, then Jacques Lacloche, were designed by the best workshops of Paris, such as Langlois, Péry, Rubel, Strauss Allard et Meyer ou Verger, to which this volume pays tribute.
Delving into family archivers, and with the aid of two extraordinary unpublished albums of gouache, of jewelery, boxes and clocks created for the 1925 Exposition internationale, this first monograph usesover 700 documents to bring to light the jewelers' exceptional pieces, from Art Nouveau and Art Deco to the 1960s.
